Return to What We Do

The Pontefract Lioness Club support a number of ongoing projects such as:

Although this is not solely a Lions Scheme, many Clubs throughout the Country have adopted it making it free to the user and although focussed on the more vulnerable person it can benefit anyone in the community.

The Lionesses supply bottles to Doctors Surgeries, Chemists, Council Officers, Carers, Sheltered Housing, Hospitals etc and these are given to individuals who simply complete the enclosed form, put it back in the bottle and then simply put the bottle in the fridge.  Emergency services know to look for the bottles when they are called to a house and as a minimum it will save them valuable time identifying you and your emergency contacts plus if you provide any medication/allergy details it can be a potential lifesaver.  Click here for more information      MIAB Website

Emergency Toiletry Packs

A valuable gift in times of need.   The Pontefract Club supply these to the local hospital and Womens Refuge where they are given out to individuals who arrive unexpectedly and have no provisions with them.

When the Selby Train crash happened, casualties were brought to the Pontefract Infirmary and we quickly supplied additional packs to the accident and emergency unit for distribution and these were well received by the individuals who received them.
